Xiaomi To Launch Redmi 2 And MiPad Today!

Xiaomi bought Indian markets to storm last year with its mid range of smartphones and is planning to launch Redmi 2 and MiPad today in a media event in Delhi which will be attended by Manu Jain, who is head of India operations and  Hugo Barra, who is the vice president International for Xiaomi to unveil the new product.
After having a contest on Facebook and many teasers, Xiaomi is expected to launch Redmi 2 today as it has already discontinued the Redmi 1s which was its only product under 8000 and with Motorola launching Moto E (Gen 2) it is no surprise that Xiaomi will launch Redmi 2.

Redmi 2 will have a 4.7 inch  IPS HD display at 1280x720 pixels with 312ppi and the phone is said to be a powerhouse with 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor (64-bit) which is paired with 1GB RAM and Adreno 306 GPU. The phone will come with 8GB of inbuilt storage and a slot for expendable memory up to 32GB via a Micro SD card. The phone will have 8MP rear shooter with a 2MP front camera with a front facing sensor. The phone will run on MIUI 6 which is based on Android 4.4. KitKat and will pack a 2200mAh battery. The Chinese Giant has recently upgraded Redmi 2 with a 16GB of Internal Storage and a 2GB of RAM and we expect that Xiaomi will launch this revamped product in India with a price tag to be at 6999 to directly compete with the recently released Moto E(Gen 2).

Other product that Xiaomi is expected to launch is an Android Tablet called MiPad which was launched at a mere $220. The phone sports a 7.9-inch display with an awesome 2048×1536 pixels, and is powered by a NVIDIA Tegra K1 processor with 192-core Kepler GPU clocked at 2.2GHz and paired with 2GB of RAM. The tablet will have a 8MP rear shooter with a 5MP front facing camera and a 16 or 64GB Internal Memory with Expendable Memory up to 128GB and the tablet houses a 6700mAh battery which is no removable.
The event will take place today at 11 AM in Delhi.
