This association is big boon for Facebook as well as India as it will provide free internet access to tens of millions of people considering that India is the second most populous country in the world
The app will not be accessible to everyone in India as Facebook has partnered with Reliance Communications to provide the service in six states viz Maharashtra, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, Kerala and Andhra Pradesh.

Reliance said that this is the first step to the program that aims to provide basic Internet service in a country of billion people, most of whom aren't connected. The app will be basically in English along with the six local languages which include Gujarati, Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu and Marathi and the users will be able to access it through the dedicated app as well as the home screen on Opera and UC Web's UC Browser and it is being said that 38 websites including Facebook, Facebook Messenger, BBC and ESPN will be available for access.
