Apple Watch Details Leak

A collection of details of the new Apple Watch have leaked before the Apple's Spring Forward special event on 9th March.

Sources tell that Apple has managed to enhance the battery life of its smartwatch to handle about 5 hours of heavy app usage. It should not run out of battery over a typical day of use, so it will need to be charged overnight as it won't make it through a second day.

Apple also plans to include a new feature, the "Power Reserve Mode", that will trim/cut most of the features of the watch, apart from displaying the time. It can be turned on through the Battery Glance or the Settings app. The Battery Glance shows the battery percentage remaining, the amount of time since the last charge, and a button to activate the "Power Reserve Mode".

The "Power Reserve Mode" apparently dims the display, slows down the transmission with the iPhone to an required level, and even puts the display to sleep after approximately two seconds of inactivity.

Rather than displaying an alert when the battery is low, It changes the Apple Watch Battery Life glance colour. At 20% it changes to amber/orange colour and at 10% it changes to red.

Moreover, the watch also consists of a notification center, that can be accessed by just swiping down from the top of the display, similar to iPhone. The notification shows list of each app name as well as their description of the notification.

The Prototype Apple Watches are said to have about 8GB of storage which can store music for playback. The Prototype units have lightning connectors that won't be on the shipping models. Users can specify which songs they want to sync to the Apple Watch via a panel in the companion app for the iPhone.

The companion application will feature a dark black user interface with Apple Watch as its icon. It will let the users to manage settings, music, rearrange the icons on its home screen and will allow us to remove the WatchKit apps from the watch without deleting the corresponding app on your iPhone. A settings app has various toggles that include Bluetooth and Airplane  mode just like iOS. Apparently there is no dedicated Wi-Fi settings menu, so that will be likely controlled by the iPhone.

There is no keyboard on the Apple Watch and all the input is directed via voice or pre-populated options. Grievously, you will not be able to reply to Emails by voice yet, you will need to use the Mail app on your iPhone.

The watch can be turned off by long pressing the large communication button on its right side. A power slider is then displayed on the screen and a swipe shuts down the watch. Apps can be force closed by accessing shut down screen and then quickly pressing the button on the right side.

It is expected that Apple will reveal more details about the Apple Watch at its Spring Forward event on 9th March. Do follow us on Facebook , Twitter and Instagram and visit our website www.techwreck.org  for updates.
