A great news for all the Indian Zomato fans. I am sure you guys are gonna love this and exploit this feature to the fullest. Indian restaurant search engine Zomato that recently acquired US based company Urbanspoon for 50 million dollars, is now planning to expand its horizons into food orders, says a Tech-Crunch Report. The company is planning to start its new service in India in the next month. Zomato's new service will enable customers to order food via home delivery directly from this platform which will be functional from 16th March. The company has partnered with around 2,000 restaurants across the country for the same.
The Gurgaon based company expects to reach 10,000 supported restaurants across the nation in its debut service in India.
Zomato plans to launch this service in other markets once it becomes successful in the Indian market. Unlike other food ordering portals, where the conpany passes the orders to the restaurants, Zomato will be working on all together a different concept. Restaurants who have partnered with Zomato will manually accept order from Zomato user manually before it is processed.To enhance this service, Zomato has provided with iPads which convert the tablet into an order hotline from Zomato. Founded in 2008, Zomato is currently valued at around $660 million.
