Starbucks iOS app update comes with Apple Pay Support

Starbucks has recently updated its iOS app to version 3.2.1, supporting the Apple Pay feature. One can now reload the Starbucks Card using Apple Pay.

This still doesn't mean you can pay for your Starbucks Vanilla Latte with Apple Pay directly, but it's better than anything.

MacRumors states that Starbucks Coffee outlets aren't yet equipped with the NFC (Near Field Communication) technology, which is obviously needed to enable direct Apple Pay payments, and Starbucks has not, so far, made any official announcements on that topic.

The new feature means that Starbucks Coffee has finally made good on its Apple Pay partnership, which was officialy announced in October last year.

Other changes in the updated app include calorie information on all the listed menu items, as well as the all-time standard bug fixing!

As of now we cannot say when exactly will the 'Tap to Pay" option be available, but we are sure the facility shall soon be made available at all Starbucks Coffee outlets.
