A new unique app called oneminute has surfaced on the Google Play Store. The app involves sharing images and experiences with the world.
Every day the app gives you a single opportunity via a push notification to take a photo, but you're supposed to take the shot within sixty seconds of being prompted by the notification. You won’t know when that minute is coming, & if you miss it, you won’t get another chance until the next day.
After the minute has passed, the photos taken during that time are combined into a single glimpse of what that day looked like in that particular moment.
There’s something amazing about seeing a single sixty seconds pressed down to a bunch of spontaneous, anonymous photos spontaneously taken all around the world.
Other than that, the app doesn’t actually do much else. However, it has the standard option of linking photos and browsing through previous minutes & that’s all about it…
In a nutshell, you simply get a glimpse into the world around you and a brief opportunity to share what you are seeing around you.
How did this idea come to the Creator of the app?
Mr. Alex Kwon, creator of the app formerly worked at Samsung in the concept creation team & came up with this winderful idea when staring blankly into his monitor, wondering as to what was happening around the world at that very moment.
The entire app is built to enhance spontaneity says Alex.
By forcing one to react to an unexpected notification, one gets a more candid view of the world at that point in time
We at TechWreck love the sheer simplicity and candid nature of the app oneminute; it’s a welcome departure from the perfect world of Instagram and Snapchat for a brief moment each day.
