Alcatel One announced its PIXI 3 Series of smartphone, ahead of CES (Consumer Electric Show) 2015. Both the PIXI 3 Series will be showcased in CES 2015 starting tomorrow,January 6,2015.
The Pixi 3 series smartphones will run on three operating system viz Android, Windows Phone, an Firefox OS. It is worth noting that the firm has previously made smartphones running on all the above mentioned OSes.
The series has four smartphones of four different screen sizes viz 3.5 inch, 4 inch, 4.5 inch and 5 inch. While 3.5inch will have a 3G connectivity, the other three of the series will also include 4G LTE connection depending on the users choice.
"Our users do not want complicated systems -- they want something familiar from their work environment in the office, but also on a smartphone," said Alcatel One Touch Chief Marketing Officer Dan Dery in a press release.
The specifications of the smartphone series is not known, it is likely to fall in lower tier segment.
While PIXI and PIXI 2 ran on just Android ,the most interesting is that the PIXI 3 series will be OS-agnostic.
What Alcatel means isn't explained clearly;
Is it all three OS in one ?
Or since these are going to be affordable offerings, we however do assume that each size have three version i.e one for each above mentioned OSes.
This seems more likely than loading all three operating systems on each handset.
