NVIDIA Launching 4K Gaming Console With Android TV

NVIDIA, which is one of the best and veteran brands in terms of graphics in PC has developed a new home entertainment console powered by its own Tegra X1 chipset that will be launched this summer as a competitor to the currently available gaming consoles from Microsoft and Sony.
Priced at $199, this device will do everything from streaming movies and videos on demand to playing games and this Android based entertainment device will be the first in the world to offer 4K resolution video streaming which no console has been able to achieve so far. The GRID technology build by the company for this beast will allow streaming at 4K HD without a lag. The X1 chipset consists of 256-core GPU and 64bit CPU ensuring that the console is one hell of a beast!

The console was unveiled by NVIDIA at the in going Gaming Developers Conference and according to CEO of NVIDIA, this console will be a video game version of Netflix and provides around twice the power of the Xbox 360 at an eighth of the power consumption of Microsoft’s console.
The console is disc-less and the games will have to be downloaded with just 20 Gigs available in the launch model and we think users will later need an external hard disk for playing games or streaming movies and videos.
There will be 2 subscription packages in which one would allow games to be played at 720p resolution with 30 fps and the other would allow games to be played at 1080p resolution with 60 fps.
During the launch the console is expected to offer access to around 50 titles including Crysis 3, Batman: Arkham Origins, GRID 2, Metro: Last Light Redux and The Talos Principle, with additional titles added each week.
The SHIELD will be available this May  in US and later in second half of year in UK.
