After the flagship smartphone launches by HTC and Samsung, Gionee, today at MWC unveiled its flagship smartphone- the Gionee Elife S7. This Smartphone by Gionee is one of the slimmest smartphones today with thickness of 5.5mm and the flagship phone is priced at 33 Euros (Approx Rs. 27000) and the phone is expected to hit Indian markets on April 3.
According to Gionee the smartphone sports a U shaped design which sets it apart from the design of other smartphones and uses aviation-level aluminium magnesium alloy. This unique and complicated design seems to be the distinctive feature of this smartphone.
The Elife S7 boasts of a 5.2-inch full HD Super AMOLED display and measures 139.8x67.4x5.5mm weighing a mere 127 grams. It houses the 64-bit MediaTek SoC which has a 1.7GHz octa-core processor paired with 2GB of RAM. The phone gets a 16 GB of memory which is non expendable via a memory card This is the first smartphone by Gionee that comes with Android's latest OS Lollipop (5.0) out of the box and will have Gionee's Amigo 3.0 UI on top of it. The phone sports an impressive 13 MP autofocus rear camera with LED flash and a 8-megapixel front facing camera.
On the connectivity side Elife S7 includes 4G, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Wi-Fi Direct, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS/ A-GPS, USB OTG, and FM radio. Gionee estimates it has improved battery life by 32% and the phone should go for two days with a non removable 2500 mAh battery. There's Extreme mode for emergencies, which restricts phone features and gives you 33 hours 45 minutes of standby on just 10% charge.
The phone will be releasing in Macau on 18 March for 399 Euros and will be released in Indian markets on 3rd April.
