Android Wear Will Get Wifi And Gesture Support

With Apple Watch launched this week, Google is keeping no stone unturned to make Android Wearable a perfect rival for the Cupertino based company. One of the highlights for the Apple Watch is the unprecedented support for WiFi as well as Bluetooth which is absent in most of the Android based Smartwatches. Google has now revealed that in the next update or the Android Wearable, it will allow Gesture Control and WiFi support for almost all the watches.

This comes as a huge relief for the wearable consumers as they will now be able to get Notifications and will be able to perform Gesture Control without the support for Bluetooth. There are many watches in the current market that have WiFi built in and just need a minor update to make it work. The other highlight in the update is the support for the Gesture Control feature which will allow the users to flick their wrist instead of swiping that small screen. There will be some minor UI tweaks and users will get easier access to contacts and other apps which was cumbersome before as the user had to navigate through the whole menu or give voice command.

Google hasn't yet revealed whether in the future updates if they will have support for the iOS which would help getting attention of many users as Android Wearable is much cheaper than the recently released Apple Watch which costs from $349 to $17000 for the Gold Edition!
