The Nexus 5 is dead! After Google removed the Red and the White versions of the device from the Play Store, we have received some exclusive news from Google that the Black version will now not be manufactured. Once the Nexus 5 model in the Play Store is out of stock, Google will not replenish it!
If you want a black version of the Nexus 5, it’s time to act fast. This seems to be quite the sudden move from Google, since back in November, when the Nexus 6 and Nexus 9 were unveiled, the Nexus 5 was still considered a member of the Google phone family, seemingly going nowhere. Google must have changed its mind at some given point (or maybe this was always the plan the entire time), and it’s sad news for those passionate for Nexus devices, seeing as the Nexus 5 was a real gem, a diamond in the rough!
After the Nexus 5 is out of stock from Play Store, one would need to settle with third party providers of refurbished versions such as eBay or Amazon.
